Tea Is Better Than Water!

From a recent article on the Beeb, Tea ‘healthier’ drink than water: Drinking three or more cups of tea a day is as good for you as drinking plenty of water and may even have extra health benefits, say researchers. This makes my plan of drinking several pots of tea a day seem even better! Tea Is Better Than Water!

Superman is a Sissy

I’m a Spider-Man fan. I don’t think it naturally follows that I wouldn’t like Superman. I just don’t. It’s hard to take someone seriously when he’s basically a minor god. So every time we walk past the Sharper Image store in Los Gatos with its enormous statue of Superman, I make it a point to Superman is a Sissy

Twenty Years Ago

The Beatle’s Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band begins: It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play They’ve been going in and out of style But they’re guaranteed to raise a smile. It occurred to me this morning that this summer is the twentieth anniversary of my first job in Twenty Years Ago

Leaf Blowers Should Be Illegal

OK, I know this is going to be controversial, but I think anyone who uses a leaf blower should be sent to prison and subjected to some sort of nasty torment. I just can’t imagine the incredible mental retardation of anyone who would purchase a device that requires fuel to the tune of $3.30/gallon to Leaf Blowers Should Be Illegal

Lunch at Cafe Macs

One of the great things about Anna now having a car is that we can get together for lunch. Granted, Cafe Macs isn’t exactly gourmet dining, but Molly doesn’t seem to mind. However, I really need to purchase an iPhone for Anna so that she can get her own directions rather than constantly bogarting mine…

Christening the New Mini

This afternoon we picked up Vivian: Anna’s new Mini. After nearly three hours we were able to drive away in the fiery red sports car. And drive we did. We took Hwy 9 through the Santa Cruz mountains over to Santa Cruz where we had slurpies from Jamba Juice and walked around town. I got Christening the New Mini

Coming Soon

Arriving sometime in the first half of September: the practical family car, Anna’s new 2007 Mini Cooper. I really wanted to buy the Cooper S, but the lead time on orders is running about 4 months. There’s no possible way we’ll survive that long without a car. I’m surprised Anna’s been able to get by Coming Soon

A New Face

I’ve updated the theme for our site. You might notice the interactive archives at the bottom of the page and the swanky flickr images at the right. This is still a work in progress: the flickr images aren’t cached so I’m pinging flickr each time the home page loads. The old photo album plugin (FAlbum) A New Face

I’ll Never Get That Time Back

Last night we watched Eragon. I wasn’t expecting much from a story written by a teenager, but the movie started with backstory narration (never a good sign) and moved quickly on to wooden acting from John Malkovich and the rest of the cast. The story was crammed full of every cliché in the fantasy genre. I’ll Never Get That Time Back

New Apartment

This afternoon we received confirmation that we’ll actually have a place to live once we leave Newburyport. Hooray! Beginning on the first of the year, we’ll be residents of the Harbor Steps and our address will be: 1301 First Avenue #312 Seattle, WA 98101 Most importantly for me, we’ll be three blocks south of the New Apartment
