Augustus Loves the Park

Since we moved to Newburyport, I’ve been trying to get Augustus to go for a walk in the park behind our apartment. This has been complicated by several factors: the hundreds and hundreds of feet of bloody snow that fell this winter, the noise of cars rushing along Water/Merrimac St., and the harness. There really Augustus Loves the Park

Visit to Seattle

Last week I had the opportunity to visit Seattle for the first time since I moved back east almost three years ago. Ostensibly this was a business trip, but that didn’t stop me from visiting with a lot of friends I hadn’t seen in ages. First, I have to say that staying at the Washington Visit to Seattle

What Bridge?

Yesterday was an incredibly beautiful day. We put the top down and motored out to Plum Island. While walking around the end of the Island, we encountered this sign. What bridge is this, I wonder? That water out there, that’s the Atlantic ocean. So, again, I wonder, what bridge could the sign be referring to?

I guess I need to distinguish between Plum Island the nature preserve and Plum Island the village. The Plum Island nature preserve is wonderful. Absolutely. Undeniably. Cats Hate Dieting

Magic tops out around 20 lbs, which is way too fat. After he completely disgusted Anna this weekend by letting out a long and loud — and very stinky — fart when she picked him up, Anna decided it was time for him to go on a diet. Unfortunately, Magic got to his tremendous size Cats Hate Dieting

More Snow!

Gods damn! Last night we received another gift of snow from Ullr, Norse God of Snow: 4-6 inches of nasty white crap, which had to be shovelled away from our cars. Of course, it was still snowing when we were done, and we had about another inch or two of the foul precipitation when I More Snow!
