Live Music at Yankee Homecoming

I’m certain Anna knows who this young lady is, but I don’t remember. There has been so much good music already in the first two days of Yankee Homecoming. We were walking by during her performance, and of course, we had to stop and listen. Update: Her name is Joy Sumberg.

New Web Site

I’ve decided to split the technology side of things from this web site into its own. I’ve dubbed the new site nerd.newburyportion. The first article is about debugging JavaScript applications using trace messages is up. I’d love to get some feedback.

Bugs!

For the last week or two, I’ve been working on a port of Apple’s Cocoa Bindings technology to DHTML. Up until yesterday, things have been going swimmingly: like the Objective-C implementation of Bindings, the JavaScript version just worked (the hallmark of most Apple technologies). That is up until yesterday. Yesterday I ran into a monumental Bugs!

Cascade in White Mountains

On our way to Vermont, we stopped several times along the scenic highway through New Hampshire’s White Mountains. On one stop we walked up a short path to see this small cascade. For some reason, everyone kept telling me not to fall down the waterfall.

Point & Shoot == Frustration

So Anna has a new camera. Based on her reaction to my constant bogarting of the device in question, she probably won’t really consider it hers until my Canon 10D returns from the shop. Water Everywhere

Along the Haselton Trail we encountered countless little springs all feeding into the brook running beside the trail. Both Anna and I soaked up some gloriously cool spring water in our bandanas to cool off. One advantage to not having any hair is that I was able to rub the wet bandana all around my Water Everywhere

How Much More Up Is There?

Coming just a day or two after her ascent of Mt. Mansfield, Anna’s a little tired of all this climbing stuff. Actually, the Clara Bow trail, although labelled difficult on the map, was a whole lot of fun.

We’re Back

We returned from our Vermont Vacation earlier this afternoon. The kids were really happy to see us, and although we had fun, we were very happy to be home. I learned a couple valuable lessons on the trip: I don’t like being a passenger. I much prefer driving. Plus you really can’t see much from We’re Back

Anna Clowns Around On Mt. Mansfield

Not willing to be out-done in the clowning-around department, Anna poses for a photograph which I assured her would grace the cover of a backwoods magazine…

Into the Cave

The Clara Bow trail dives into a cave giving the gang a taste of rock scrambling — on damp, slippery rocks.
