First Day

Yesterday was Molly’s first day of Kindergarten at Collins Elementary here in Cupertino. She was super excited.

Better Late than Never

This post is a bit more than two and a half months overdue. After leaving Apple back in April of 2009, we moved back to Seattle. We were delighted to reunite with our friends, buy a house, and settle into a comfortable life over on Bainbridge Island. While I regretted leaving Apple, I felt as Better Late than Never

Summer Vacation Day 4

From Salmon you take a two lane road east until you get to the Teton range. Oh, sure. The road changes names — going under the alias of ID-28 for about 120 miles, then swapping over to ID-33 to allay suspicion. But the fact is, you’re on a two lane road that pretty much goes Summer Vacation Day 4

Summer Vacation Day 3

We were scheduled to raft down the Salmon river this morning. The operative word in that sentence is were. When I got up, there was the barest hint of frost on the sliding glass door to our balcony and the temperature read 32°F. Much, much too cold to go rafting. Fortunately, the fantastic folks at Summer Vacation Day 3

Summer Vacation Day 2

We awoke to find it cold. No, colder than that. What the hell is going on with this summer? The wind hadn’t died down from the night before and now it was probably in the mid 40s. Not so much fun for having the top down, so we agreed up was better. Our first stop Summer Vacation Day 2

Summer Vacation Day 1

Yesterday was the first day of our Summer Vacation. If you haven’t already gathered from my twitter posts, Molly and I are driving out to visit the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. The trip was partly forced on us by the closure of her school for a week as the kids transition from Moon Summer Vacation Day 1

Kittie for Halloween

We wanted to visit our friends in the Market before heading out for Trick-or-Treating. This is Molly standing in front of the Corner Produce stand:

Star Wars Fan

Molly and I have been watching the original Star Wars movies. Her favourite is Return of the Jedi — I think the Ewoks are what does it for her. She’s also facinated with how Darth Vader decides to be a good guy at the end.

Thank You Daddy

Molly doesn’t eat her vegetables. Probably every one of you who are parents have started to laugh. But since I really want her to eat her vegetables, I’ve decided that from now on, dinner will begin with a plate of vegetables. If Molly eats them, she may have her dinner. If she doesn’t eat them, Thank You Daddy
