Fine Dining for your Final Meal

We went shopping in Danvers on Wednesday. The Sentillion office was closed because of a coolant leak from the roof — ethylene glycol was pouring down into our electrical closet. So, I figured we’d take the opportunity to do some shopping. We’ve been looking for furniture for our new apartment, and just haven’t been having Fine Dining for your Final Meal

Another DVD Experience on Windows

The other day, We wanted to watch a DVD on my Dell laptop. Instead of popping the DVD in the drive and enjoying the cinematic horror that is Van Helsing, I had to download the latest Windows Media Player. We ultimately watched the DVD on Anna’s PowerBook, because the Dell was taking so long to Another DVD Experience on Windows

Watching DVDs on Windows

Until we finish moving, we’re reduced to watching movies on our laptops. Because the Dell I’ve been issued from work has a large, wide screen, I thought we’d watch that cinematic marvel, Van Helsing, on it. One of my first acts when getting any Windows computer is to uninstall lots of stuff and install other Watching DVDs on Windows

View from the Bedroom

This morning I awoke to find a light dusting of snow covering Newburyport. Looking out our bedroom window, I found this scene reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting. Of course, had good old Norman been here, he’d have managed to capture everything without cars zooming through the photo. But then he had the option of View from the Bedroom

Signed the Lease

No More Comments

Within hours, mere hours, of turning comments back on we have SPAM. That does it. No more comments on our Web site. I know this comes as crushing news to, er, almost no one, but that’s how it has to be.

Comments Back

Well, I’m willing to give it a try… comments have been turned back on. Now don’t all rush to comment on your favourite post. Truly, we only get one or two comments a month; so I’m not certain why we bother. To prevent further spam, I’ve changed the name of the program that processes the Comments Back

Comments Disabled

Returning from vacation, I noticed an enormous amount of spam comments trying to entice visitors into clicking on advertisements for “cheap” pharmaceuticals. Until I decide what to do about this, I’ve disabled comments on all posts. Unfortunately, the pages still have the comment forms at the bottom (I goofed when building them), but submitting comments Comments Disabled

International By The Roadside

While out for a drive today, we came across this old International pickup just sitting there on the side of the road. I circled back and pulled over to photograph it. Several others either slowed down or stopped to admire this relic as well.

Relic in Black and White

I’ve always liked the look of black and white photos. It would be very cool if Canon would make a digital SLR that was B&W only. Due to the weird way digital cameras produce colour from the light striking sensors which are only sensitive to light intensity and not colour, this would actually produce a Relic in Black and White
