Space Monkey

One of Anna’s favourite movies is Fight Club. Partly because her heart-throbs Ed Norton and Brad Pitt star in it, and partly because it’s a cool movie.

Since April, I’ve been cutting my hair shorter and shorter. This morning was the ultimate step: 1/8″ fuzz now covers my head. In reference to Fight Club, Anna says I look like a “Space Monkey”.

In part this was all prompted by my thinning hair. It didn’t have the common sense to simply fall out. No. It had to thin instead. And when my thin hair got the slightest bit long, it looked incredibly goofy, because you could tell how thin it was.

I no longer have any hair to worry about.

Now all I have to worry about is whether to donate my remaining shampoo to charity.

Zoë Back from the Dead

This afternoon I picked up Anna’s 12″ PowerBook, zoë, from the Apple Store. They replaced the hard drive with one that didn’t have bad blocks, but more importantly, they were able to restore the data from the old drive.

It looks like we lost all the Quicken financial data, but all the photos seem to be intact.

Anna seems pretty happy — especially as zoë will be upgraded to Tiger.

Anna’s New Camera

After complaining incessantly that the camera I bought us just before our wedding didn’t feel like a shared camera, but felt more like my personal camera, Anna finally has her own camera.

Canon A95

I wanted to buy her a camera that was small enough to tote everywhere, but that still used Compact Flash cards — so we wouldn’t have to buy more memory cards and another card reader.

I hope she’ll allow me to borrow it when we’re hiking the week of 4 July, otherwise there won’t be any photos of Preggo hiking, because the Canon 10D (which I suppose I should now call my camera) needs to be sent to Canon for repairs to the on-off switch.

Our Photos

These days all our photos are stored on Flickr. Pretty much just like everyone else. Our old photos are also still available.
