Exciting News!

Jeff and I returned home at about 6pm yesterday evening, having spent both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with both branches of my family in the wilds of the Hudson Valley. Actually we had a really wonderful time, in spite of the pouring rain and rapidly dropping temperatures.

However, one of the most interesting things happened while we were still in Kingston. Soon before we left for the bus station, I called my cousin Kim to wish her and Nick (her husband) both a happy holiday.

She surprised me with the wonderful news that she was two months pregnant. In fact, she had found out she was pregnant the week before our wedding, but wanted to wait to be certain everything was fine before announcing the news.

I am very excited for them! My cousin and I were always rather close, as we were born approximately six months apart, and spent our childhood together. Perhaps, if we are lucky, our children might do the same!

And, for the record, I am NOT “preggers” myself at this time…

Happy XMas

We’re off to Kingston to celebrate Christmas with Anna’s family. 7 am will find us on a bus headed north on the NY Thruway. Of course, this means we have to leave the house at a quarter to 6 am. I know Anna will be at her brightest and most cheerful at that hour.

Because we can’t really leave the cats alone for too long, we’ll be catching a bus home on either Christmas day or Friday, the day after. That way we’ll have the better part of the weekend to recover from our travels and cuddle…

I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday!

First Photo

We’ve been remiss in getting the photographs from our wedding finished. Now I understand what a wedding photographer gets paid several thousand dollars to do: tweak the levels, clone bricks and generally take good raw materials and from them create lasting memories.

Anna and I were married on Friday, 28 November at New York City Hall. In attendance were all of our immediate family, Anna’s cousin Kim and her husband Nick, and Anna’s Godfather and his wife.

We will be sending out cards for New Years that include a number of 4×6 prints of some of the highlights from the wedding. If Anna will allow me, I’ll post some of them here once they are ready.

Our Photos

These days all our photos are stored on Flickr. Pretty much just like everyone else. Our old photos are also still available.
