Wedding
As incredible as it is to believe, we are now less than one
week before the Wedding of the Year (at least in the Watkins/Piskoz
family circles).
Nearly all of the details are set, with the possible exception of
dry cleaning my coat. Although, by the looks of the weather forecast
(high of 51, low of 38- for those of you who are keeping score), I
might be dressed a little more warmly than I need to if I actually wear
it.
We even picked up our Carvel ice cream cakes last night. I couldn’t
help but giggle at the thought of buying my wedding cake at the “ghetto
grocery” (a story for another time, believe me).
I am very excited, but I’m certain my excitement will increase even
more once I have completed the next two grueling days of work.
We also have to plan and survive Thanksgiving out and about in
Jersey City…

Wedding
Well, this is hardly the exciting and detail-packed update I had
promised last time.
Jeff and I have been fiddling with images of my wedding accessories;
but now that our extremely snazzy new digital camera has arrived,
perhaps we will abandon my original polaroids for some higher quality
pictures to give everyone a preview of the day.
Actually, since the wedding is just a little over a week away,
perhaps we should just wait and post the photos from the actual
event. And let me just take a minute to pause and reflect on this
phrase: “the wedding is just a little over a week away“…
But first, let me digress for a moment. My present job, temporary
receptionist in the human resources department of a financial services
company (Pershing), is both a
blessing and a curse during this time:
- A blessing, because it has kept me busy enough that I do not
obsess over what, by all accounts, will be one of the biggest days
of my life.
- A curse, because it leaves me so completely drained, so
completely numb (except for those moments when I am in a bad mood-
don’t ask) that I feel that I am unable to fully enjoy the time
leading up to the big day.
But, I suppose I shouldn’t complain. This job is part of the reason
we will be able to pull this off in such a short period of time.
Now, if I could just relax before then.
And let me say this, if one more person asks me if I am
nervous…

Wedding
Anna has the best fiancé in the world. No. Really. It’s true.
After months and months of listening to her whine about how she would
get rid of a lot of her stuff if she only had a digital camera to
photograph it all, I broke down.
Last Friday, I bought her a digital camera. Specifically, a Canon
EOS 10D with a 6.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor that will accept any one of
the lenses we already own (for my EOS 3 film camera). The 10D is a huge
improvement over the Canon EOS D30 that I once owned.

I confess that I really intended this to be a gift for us both; but
I plan to milk it for all that it’s worth…
P.S. Only twelve more days to go…
